I just go by Becker. Kinda like Bono, Sting or Madonna (not Cher though).
I’ve been shooting weddings full time since 1997 and loving every minute of it. I love showing up when people are all dressed up, looking good, having a great time, and I just try to blend in and capture the day as it unfolds. It’s my goal to show up at each and every wedding as if I were an old friend with a fancy camera. You just relax and have fun, I’ll take care of the rest!
Ever since picking up a camera in my high school photo class (back in the 80′s), I have been in love with photography. I knew right away, without a doubt, that I was meant to be a professional photographer and started my business at the ripe old age of 16. I worked at a photo lab after school and shot most of the photos for the school newspaper and yearbook during my senior year.
My original business card from 1989 as well as a portrait of me during my senior year make up the tag that is on my current camera bag.
I shot & processed my first roll of B&W film, just a week or so before my 16th birthday in 1989. I’ve been hooked ever since!
I can’t tell you how much I love being a wedding photographer.
I traded my camera for a bouquet (but notice I still held onto the strap!)
Back in 1993, I had the pleasure of photographing President Reagan when he went for a ride on the Goodyear blimp. I’ll never forget that experience. My grandmother has like 8 grandkids (I’m the 2nd oldest) and too many great grandchildren to count, and she has a huge photo wall in her living room with hundreds of photos, and this one is framed smack dab in the center (I’m her favorite by far!)
His hands were full, so instead of a boring handshake photo, “Uncle Ron” just put his arm around me!

I moonlight as a wannabe semi professional poker player. I’ve played in the WSOP twice!
I also moonlight as a motivational speaker. I love helping other photographers @thebschool.
I love to travel. Who doesn’t?
My parents are high school sweethearts and have been such a huge support throughout my entire career. When I was 16, instead of getting me a new car, I opted to drive my mom’s 1979 LeBaron and got a new camera instead.
I recently lost 70 pounds doing the 4 Hour Body and I’ve kept it off for over a year. I feel great and eat lots of bacon.
Although photography is my job… it is also my hobby and my passion. I really enjoy shooting when I travel. This image was taken moments before sunrise from the banks of the Ganges river in Varanasi, India:
